The central motif is of Sassanian origin, ground in Neishapour.. Iran Abbasid 10th C. 604- Globular Dark-green Glass- Bottle; Wheel-cut on the body with three registers of ten concave circles each; every other circle contains a raised circular center. Neck also ornamented with hollow-cut design. Seven-pointed star on bottom. Gorgan-Iran 8th-9th C. 565- Glazed Pottery Pitcher With Handle; Inscription in black slip on white ground. Samarkand type Neishapour - Iran 10th C. 574- Glazed Pottery Bowl; Greenish-White pseudo-writing on a black slip ground. Samarkand type Neishapour-Iran Samanid 10th C. 608- Dark-Green Bottle; With flaring neck. Boldly carved; irregular design on bottom Gorgan-Iran 9th-10th C. 601- Glazed Pottery Plate; Black wild mountain goat and red and brown rosettes, on a buff ground Gorgan-Iran, 10th-11th C. 563- Large Pottery Bowl; Cream ware with transparent glaze over Kufic inscriptions in red and deep brown. Two lines encircle the inside; the bottom has two lines at right angles. Low ring foot. Neishapour-Iran 10th C. 603- Globular Blue Glass Bottle with Silver Top; Wheel-cut concave design of vertical oval on neck and horizontal ovals on body and incised linear details. The silver top on the high neck, with a drop spout and a stopper, is encircled by a Kufic inscription of blessings in niello. Gorgan-Iran 9th-10th C. 606- Blue Glass Bottle; With tapering neck and flaring lip. Wheel-cut concave design of two rows of seven concentric circles each. Gorgan-Iran 95h-10th C. |
