FOLKLORE OF IRANIANS
Centuries of invasions and
assimilations, Iran experienced various folklore.
Iranians remained descendents of their ancestors
reaching to Aryans, migrated into this plateau about
700-1000 years before Christ. Although more than
half of Iran's population is made up of Aryans
(Persians), Iran also has hugely diverse peoples
such as the Azari, Afsharies, Bakhtiary, Baluchis, Gilaki (Gilani),
Ghoochanis, Khorasan, Kords, Lors,
Mazandaranis, Qashqai, Shahsavan, and Turkmen among
many other folklore groups.
This page will introduce assortment of colourful,
folkloric clothing
that exists in Iran, with styles that vary from
province to province and/or socio-geography of the
land. Between the men and the women, it is the
women’s garments that are more vivid and striking in
both style and color.
